Secretary of State website and search an individual license or a business license. Protect yourself when you hire a company to do work. We here at AVX work very hard to send employees to school, sit for licensing exams, and work 2-year apprenticeship programs. We are also a Veterans Training Facility with a 2-year program using your GI Bill to pay for school to get your Low Voltage License. So Please hire a licensed Plumber, General Contractor, Electrician, Mechanical Engineer HVAC, Low Voltage Technician. We go to school, so you don’t have to!!!!

Robert Lewis

President + CEO

With over 20 years of experience, Robert brings the best quality sound and visual entertainment experience you can have! Robert’s experience began working with a small local Cable company here in Forsyth County and then expanded his experience working with a number of large AV companies throughout GA. He has lived in Forsyth County most of his life attending High school here and Lanier Tech. Robert went out on his own in 2010 to start AV Excellence and it has been great to be able to design systems for our clients and have complete design control.

As President and CEO of AV Excellence Robert brings a strong construction background, project management, low voltage experience, and multiple program certifications.

Janna Shacklett

Director of Operations

As the Director of Operations for AVX, Janna is responsible for all financial and human resource aspects of the company. With over 20 years of experience managing large Fortune 500 companies, medical management for physical therapy wellness centers, and small start-up businesses, Janna handles all internal responsibilities for the company. She is focused on building the best staff to take care of your home.

Janna enjoys her volunteer opportunities with Girl Scouts, Rising Hearts Ranch, and Sawnee-Cumming Optimist Club. In her free time she loves going out on the Kayaks on Lake Lanier with her husband Ronnie and two daughters Kelsy & Caroline. Her family attends Browns Bridge Church and lives locally here in Forsyth County.

Travis Luke

Security Division

Starting his career with a 2 year Associates Degree at Devry University, and Low Voltage Licensed in GA for over 20 years, Travis brings a high level of experience in design and installation of security systems. Having been in the field for many years working with nationally ranked Fortune 500 security companies he can help commercial and residential clients design the best systems for their applications. He enjoys the challenge of creating custom home systems that fit each individual family’s needs, knowing that no two systems are alike.In Travis’s free time he enjoys the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. He is a huge Nascar fan and watching the Dallas Cowboys. He spends free time visiting with his two adult children and grandchildren.


Dave Turner

Full Time Technician / Programmer

With over 30 years experience, David is the perfect blend of old school with new school. Growing up in Indianapolis, IN, David started with the founders of the Custom A/V’s governing body, CEDIA, in 1983. Since 1986, he has resided in Atlanta and have worked with some of the A/V leaders in the Metro Area. From retro fit to automation to lighting control, David has the knowledge to help find the answers for you!


April Lewis

Business Development Coordinator

As the business development coordinator April Lewis helps with acquiring new customers and developing relationships with current ones. She also is responsible for Social media content and online marketing. When april isn’t at the office she loves relaxing on the boat or Stand Up paddle boarding. She is also the avid gardener with her Shitzu, Tucker!

Joey Riccio

Joey has 4 years’ experience on commercial jobsites designing and installing structured systems. He is certified in multiple access control systems including Honeywell Access and Continental Access Systems for installation, design, and programming. Joey is currently on track to qualify for his Low Voltage Unrestricted exam at the end of this year. His skills in Residential and Commercial Installations will continue to be a great addition to our AVX Family.

Joey spends his free time with his family. He is an Inside-Out leader for high school students through his church. He enjoys adventuring with his brother and dad, and fishing all around the U.S.

Trey Johnson

Fresh, young and ready to make clients smile! Trey has been a part of AVX for almost a year, and is currently part of our 2 year Apprenticeship program. He is learning from the best team leaders and plans to have his Low Voltage License by the end of the 2 year program. We are excited to have Trey Johnson as part of the AVX Family!

He was born and raised right here in Cumming, Georgia. Trey is a very sweet and down to earth guy. In his free time he enjoys skateboarding, playing drums, and hanging out with friends.
